Pilates One-to-One or Two-to-One Private Sessions
One-to-one’s are ideal for beginners in order to learn the technique thoroughly before moving on to a class. They are also ideal for those who would like to progress very quickly or those who have an injury, or who are Pregnant or Post Natal, or who would prefer a personalised programme. It is also a good option for shift workers or those who are unable to commit to the group class times each week. One-to-One or Two-to-One sessions can be booked for either Matwork or for the larger apparatus (Reformer / Wunda Chair / Ladder Barrel / Tower).

Pilates Group Classes (Descriptions of all classes listed below)
Have you ever done Pilates in a large group and wondered whether you're doing it correctly? Our classes are unique in that groups are restricted to small numbers to ensure close supervision and lots of individual attention and 'hands on' corrections in order to refine technique and alignment and obtain maximum benefit from each exercise and reach full physical potential. Our courses and classes run during term time only (with the exception of summer when we run classes for 4 out of the 6 week summer holidays).

Weekly Beginner Pilates Classes
Ongoing weekly class paid by Direct Debit. Book trial class online (click on button at top of this page) Suitable for beginners of all ages, shapes and sizes, males and females and anyone who would like to learn the Pilates technique and foundations of Pilates exercises with accuracy and precision in order to improve their core strength and stability, flexibility, posture and generally enhance the way they look, feel and move. This is the next best thing to a private lesson and is therefore excellent value for money. You will be booked into one beginner class time/day of your choice, but you will get access to our 'class swap' system whereby you can take up a different beginner class on any given week if it better suits your schedule, giving you ultimate flexibility. You can join an ongoing beginner class at any time, and move up to the next level when you feel ready. A trial class can be purchased to allow you to try out and decide whether Pilates is what you're looking for. Weekly Classes of Matwork with Small Equipment: Improver, Mixed Ability, Intermediate, Dynamic Flow, Strong Bones & Balance class, Men Only Pilates, Hatha Flow Yoga. Ongoing weekly class paid by Direct Debit. Max 10 Participants. Email us for availability or a trial class. Our weekly classes run Sunday-Friday, are 55mins long, and have a maximum of 10 to a class. All of our classes are mixed except our Men Only class on a Monday evening. You can purchase a one class trial for any of these classes if you have done some Pilates before. We operate a convenient 'class swap' system, whereby you can book out of your usual class online (min 2hrs notice) and obtain a credit for use in an alternative Pilates class (credits have a 10 week expiry), giving you maximum flexibility! A 10% discount is applied for those who choose to attend twice weekly. Weekly Apparatus Class: Tower Pilates (referred to as the 'Vertical Reformer') Ongoing weekly class paid by Direct Debit. Max 8 Participants. Email us for availability or a trial class. Often referred to as a Vertical Reformer, many exercises performed on the Reformer are also taught on the Tower, plus a whole lot more. The Towers provide a good challenge for balance, and like the Reformer they use springs to add resistance, load and challenge, and also to add support. Your core stabilisers will work hard to control the trunk against the strength and instability of the springs. There is very little pressure on the joints as the bodyweight is supported. Our Wall Tower classes have a maximum of 8 to a class so as always you can be assured of close supervision. Beginners welcome, no experience necessary. Our Tower classes take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11.50am. |
Strong Bones & Balance Pilates
(See 'weekly classes' above) Tuesdays at 4.55pm Did you know that 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men could suffer an Osteoporotic fracture in their lifetime? Of course bone thinning is associated with the aging process (and for women there’s an association with menopause), BUT it does often affect younger people too, and to counteract the inevitable loss of bone density it’s important to start to build bone density BEFORE it becomes an issue. With the use of resistance bands and body weight, this class is about being proactive and strengthening the bones whilst targeting those common areas for fracture, and about improving balance to prevent falls, along with all the usual core stability exercises and flexibility work you would expect to see in a Pilates class. Dynamic Flow Pilates (Intermediate/Adv)
(See 'weekly classes' above) Wednesdays at 7.05pm In this class, participants must be uninjured, must have a good level of fitness and Pilates experience, and not have any condition requiring exercise modification. The class will flow from one exercise to the next, with minimal demos, explanations or time for questions. This is a good opportunity for our most experienced participants to get a full on workout each week. Hatha Flow Yoga
(See 'weekly classes' above) Mondays at 4.55pm Hatha Flow is a traditional non-dynamic style of Yoga, where you are encouraged to progress at your own pace with postures offered progressively so that all abilities can be taught together. As well as physically exercising our body, Yoga helps us to take a moment out of our hectic busy lives to simply move and breathe, to relax and to be calmer. Gentle Pilates for Seniors
Ongoing weekly class booked in blocks. Max 10 Participants. Email us for availability. Thursdays at 11.50pm or 4.55pm. These classes have a maximum of 10 participants (although due to flexible booking there are rarely more than 8 in any one session) and are most suited to Seniors who would like to improve their joint mobility, bone health and strength, ease and range of movement, balance, co-ordination and posture. Flexible booking allows you to choose and pay for just 4 of the 6 available sessions in the block, thus allowing for holiday absences. Towards the end of the block you will have the option to book for the subseqent block. Please note that participants need to be able to get down to the floor and up again, using a chair for assistance. |
